An easy solution to deal with an itchy irritation is to apply a small drop of toothpaste to the affected area. Toothpaste will provide instant relief from itching. Note that the toothpaste should not paste and gel to be affective.

Bring the five essential elements of emergency for day of hiking

When you're outdoors, you never know what will happen. A lot of things that can go wrong and if you don't come prepared for an emergency, you may find yourself in a bad place. There are some things that are very important for all kinds of hiking or camping trips. You don't have to be big or large and can be easily stored in a back Pack.

  1. Map and Compass: I recommend take a map and a compass when you're on the road. This will ensure that safely you will find their way out of the trees of the dense if you missed. 
  2. Granola or a cliff bar: it is also a good idea to bring some granola or a cliff Bar so you have enough power for your hike. 
  3. Sun protection: If you plan to hike, very smart to bring sunscreen and sunglasses. This will prevent any injury if you are being exposed to the sunlight. 
  4. water bottles: this is not a "brainer." Stay hydrated. 
  5. First aid: the kit does not have to be great, but should include some bands, adhesive and disinfectant.
