Hammacher Schlemmer Blogger Christmas Gifts

Friday’s mail brought with it this year’s Christmas edition of the Hammacher Schlemmer catalogue of absolutely indispensible, unique and much treasured gifts for those folks close to you who are so hard to buy for.  Browsing through this catalogue revealed page after page of items that I knew would be a big hit with many RV Bloggers and gifts that any of us would love to find under our Christmas tree.

My thoughtful collection of Christmas Gift Ideas for BloggersDesktop8

First, for those of you who’ve never heard of Hammacher Schlemmer they just happen to be America’s Longest Running Catalogue – 164 years worth.  Why I happen to be on their subscription list I have no idea whatsoever as I’ve never bought a thing from them.  It’s nice to get a real Christmas catalogue though as it brings back memories of when I was a kid and how exciting it was to browse through the Sears and HBC catalogues to look for gifts to add to my wish list.

ipad

Here’s a gift that would be just perfect for John H. (Our RV Travels). It’s an iPad Floor Stand that telescopes, tilts, and swivels to hold the device at any position for optimal comfort.

Four bungee cords hold an iPad or a similar device inverted over your face while you lie down or sit in your favourite lazy-boy.  It eliminates the need to hold the device in awkward positions and leaves your hands unencumbered to navigate apps like Blogsy!

Since John already has one of these nifty devices for his Jeep, this just seems like a natural, right Judy?  And, it’s only $179!!

printer

How about a Wireless iPhone or Android Printer?  A smartphone running a free app transmits pictures over a home Wi-Fi network to the printer, allowing you to print from anywhere in the home or even an RV.

I mean, how many times have you been wandering around home or your RV and had the sudden irresistible urge to print a colour photo right that very second?  Isn’t it annoying when you have to waste time walking 10’ to your computer?

Donna (Travels in Therapy) just bought a new printer which is too bad because I knew Russ would just love this idea even if it seems it was made just for dummies!  A ‘bargoon’ at only $219.

hand free

Hey ladies – how about this gift for all those folliclely-challenged men in your life – a Hands Free Hair Rejuvenator!  Isn’t it a real beauty and it’s only $700!!

This unit uses the  same proven photo-biostimulation therapy employed by hair professionals. Made by a company that supplies hair rejuvenation technology to physicians, it employs low level laser therapy (LLLT) that provides pain-free light stimulation for cells in hair follicles, encouraging them to repair themselves.  It almost sounds too good to be true!

In concert with 30 high-output LEDs that provide a broad array of pulsed light energy, the rejuvenator's 21 built-in lasers produce a 655nm wavelength--the optimal wavelength used in LLLT for increased cellular activity within hair follicles.  Just imagine!

And, bonus, even if it doesn’t work you won’t need to buy expensive LED’s for your RV anymore as long as your husband is in the same room because his ‘dome’ will be glowing at 1000 watts!

headband

For RV’ers who find themselves parked overnight next to noisy train tracks or trucks roaring by on the Interstate, here’s a gizmo that’s guaranteed to give you a good night’s sleep.

Its a Sleep Assisting Music Headband that has built-in headphones, making it easy to listen to music while falling asleep. Unlike ear buds that can slip out or bulky headphones that can be awkward to wear in bed, this stretchy headband stays in place all night long.

Donna (Cave Dwellings) has often complained of trains blasting their whistles as they roar through Sandwich, IL. so this music headband would be perfect and it’s only $49 cheap!!

wallett

Who other than Rod (Retired Rod) is deserving of a beautiful Stainless Steel Wallet from Loyce for Christmas?

As we all know, Rod and Loyce bought a new home in Mesa last year and the way money has been flying out of Rod’s old wallet to pay for furniture, appliances and landscaping, his leather wallet must be showing some wear and tear.

Never fear, this wallet is woven from flexible stainless steel fabric, with a hand as smooth as silk and a strength that surpasses leather. It uses 25,000 stainless steel threads and costs only $72.

wrenches

A nice set of Rechargeable Illuminating Wrenches are a must have, indispensible addition to any RV handyman’s toolkit.

So, Marsha, this is a special tip just for you – how about getting  Paul (Where’s Weaver) a gift he’ll never forget?  How handy would these have been for the hot water tank he just replaced in your new fifth-wheel?

This wrench set has built-in LEDs that provide directional light with no wires, hot bulbs, or an assistant to hold a flashlight and, they are powered by rechargeable batteries. The lights even have high and low beam settings for viewing while working under car hoods, sinks, and in dimly lit basements – only $79.cooler

Back by popular demand is the Remote Controlled Beverage Cooler.  This remote-controlled cooler can roll across a patio, rug, or kitchen floor to deliver a well-timed beverage to parched RV’ers.

With room for 12 cans or bottles and ice, the cooler rolls on four sturdy underside wheels up to 40' from the host at the controls.

I think Sam got one of these last year, but unfortunately, it’s not up to the rigorous, continuous, heavy duty use of Sam, so Donna (Sam and Donna) just may have to buy Sam a new cooler and see if it comes with a heavy duty battery and a more rugged set of wheels.  Again, a ‘bargoon’ at only $79.

typewriter

And finally, for all the bloggers who constantly complain about Blogger, Google, Microsoft, Apple etc. and all their constant change to ‘new and improved’ ideas, here’s a suggestion:  A nice, spiffy, compact Wordsmith Manual Typewriter.

This is the manual typewriter that recalls the thoughtful, well-written correspondence of yesteryear. Devoid of technological crutches such as spell-check and deletion, each of its 44 keys requires a firm, purposeful stroke for a steady click-clacking cadence that encourages the patient, considered sentiment of a wordsmith who thinks before writing but doesn’t give any thought before buying!

As an added bonus, this typewriter comes with a life-time supply of White-Out and Carbon Paper.  All of this for only $200!!

I hope this collection of thoughtful, worthwhile and affordable gifts will help give you some great ideas in selecting something special for your loved one this Christmas!

Have a great Monday, and thanks again for visiting!
