Goodbye Palm Springs And Off To Pismo Beach!

All going well, we’ll be trading the dry desert sand of the washes here in Desert Hot Springs for the beautiful Pacific Ocean sands of the Pismo Village Beach Resort some time early Tuesday afternoon.  We are hoping to be on our way a little after 8am and the drive up thru Santa Barbara and along Hwy. 101 takes about 4 1/2 hours.

Checking out our site the day we arrived back on Jan. 2ndIMG_0502

It was quiet here Monday with most of our time spent putting away things like the dog fences, a few chairs, cleaning up inside and then emptying our holding tanks.  It seemed that every time we thought we were finished another job would pop up out of nowhere.  It looks like we’re done and ready to roll.  The only things left are what we need to do after any normal overnight stop – slides, jacks etc.

We’re going to miss the early morning views of the mountainsIMG_0494

It’s been a great 3 months here at the Sands RV Resort and Paulette and I are already looking forward to returning for our 7th season here.  I went up to the office on Monday to pay for our reservation so that we get the same site for next year.  The only thing that would bump us is if someone decided to take out a 2 year lease.  If that happened, we’d just move to another site.

Molly and Rylie are going to miss their doggie friendsIMG_0525

My truck is looking real spiffy (except for the ding in the side panel) as I took it into the local car wash for their Gold Wash treatment.  It’s in pretty much showroom condition inside and out.  I’m really going to miss these $20 wash and detailing jobs the car washes do down here.  It’s fast, thorough and the truck looks brand new!

I’m going to miss my afternoon swims in the poolIMG_0541

We’re back on our Verizon USB aircard as of yesterday afternoon.  I had to return the Time Warner cable modem/router so before I took it back, I activated our Verizon service and we’ll use that for our trip home.  It has worked just great and we’ve had excellent reception everywhere we’ve travelled.  It’s not as fast as the cable modem but it sure beats the heck out of most park WiFi’s.

Paulette’s going to really miss all the Quilt Shops IMG_0420

The tires are all pumped to the correct pressures, the tank is full of diesel, the dog bed is setup in the back seat and we’re looking forward to some new and exciting adventures along the west coast!

And. we’re all going to miss beautiful Palm Springs until next yearIMG_0535

Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!
