Best Buy’s Price Match Policy & Holy Turkey Dinner

Best Buy really came through for me with their ‘Price Match’ policy yesterday.  They knocked the price of an Epson NX530 Stylus All In One Inkjet Printer down from $129 to $79 based on a printout ad from a Canadian based on-line retailer - Canada Computers and Electronics.  This was the printer I really wanted but I was not willing to go over $100 for an inkjet printer so it was a great deal for me.

Best Buy and other local retailers all sold this printer for $129bestbuy1

Online, Canada Computers had the NX530 on sale for $79nx530

After first seeing this ad on Canada Computers, I was a bit dubious about whether or not Best Buy would honor their Price Match policy since this was from an on-line company.  But, I printed it off, took it in to the store and the salesperson was completely agreeable with no hassle or argument.  I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes with my brand new printer – happy as a Lark.

Amazon is selling this same, exact printer for $399.  Wow!! amazon

While searching various Internet sites for the best deal on this Epson printer, I happened to come across Amazon and was astounded to see they were selling this NX530 for a whopping $399!!  I guess it just goes to show that it’s not safe to assume that just because an item is being sold on Amazon that it’s going to be the lowest price and could possibly even be a giant rip-off.  Buyer beware!

All installed and working perfectly – prints beautiful color photosnx530_fca-ios-nn_690x460

Setting this printer up for both local printing, WiFi and Apple Air Print for my desktop, wireless laptops and my iPad/iPhone was a total breeze.  I used a USB cable for the desktop, the WiFi setup on the front panel for the laptops and then downloaded the free Epson iPrint app for printing from my iPad and iPhone.  Each of these print connections worked perfectly.  Even the iPad/iPhone method allows for selecting paper, print quality and other printing functions.

Holy Turkey Dinner!  Costco - $79!  Might be good for an RV??costco turkey

A week from this coming Wednesday I’ll be getting together for our usual monthly Poker Night with the same friends I’ve been playing with for 43 years now.  We have a tradition that whoever hosts poker closest to Christmas has to make a Turkey Dinner.  In all of the 43 years, not one of us has ever lived up to that tradition.

My 4 Poker Buddies Phil, Ian, Harry,Ray – I had to take the photo!poker-night-inventory-1

Phil is hosting poker this year so I sent him the Costco ad suggesting he might want to consider being the first to honour our 43 year old Turkey Dinner Tradition – especially since it’s a no-fuss, no-muss deal for only $79 – what a bargain!  We guys can always hope, but I have a feeling that once again this year we’ll be having sandwiches and donuts just like every other year since we began playing in 1969.

Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!
