An Uneventful Shopping Trip

A high wind alert for Desert Hot Springs yesterday never materialized and we ended up with another beautiful day of clear blue skies and sunshine here at the Sands.  Early Monday, we made a shopping trip west on I-10 to San Bernardino where I was hoping to pick up two outdoor recliners while Paulette visited a Quilt Shop.

We both struck out.  The Painted Lady Quilt Shop was closed Sunday and Monday so Paulette, a bit disgruntled, came with me to Camping World.  Our luck there was no better as we couldn’t find any recliners under $100 each that were any way decent.  So, home we came empty-handed but at least our wallets were still full.

After we got back home, I checked our propane tanks and found one empty.  This called for a quick trip to Blair’s RV out on Dillon Rd. – the best little RV store anywhere in Palm Springs.  I mention this RV place each year because for its size it’s amazing how much stuff they pack into the aisles, shelves and even ceiling!

For anyone hankering for the ‘good old days’….IMG_0609

If you need a plug, fixture, light, switch, connector big or small Blair will probably have it.  I noticed he had a couple of ‘oldies but goodies’ on a table outside.  These included two old Singer Sewing Machines and an old typewriter – an Underwood I think.  So, for anyone who thinks the old days were better – here’s your chance!

The rest of the day just whizzed by with visits to the pool for a swim, bike rides around the park, more trips to the dog park and then sitting outside in the sunshine reading our books.

Not too sure what Tuesday will bring around here except hotter temperatures.  Paulette is going up to Yucca Valley on a shopping excursion with a few of her quilting friends.  That means I’ll probably have a quiet day around the park with the muttzo’s.

Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!
