After striking out at Camping World on Monday looking for two reasonably priced outdoor recliners, Paulette happened across just the chairs we were looking for at, of all places, Bed Bath and Beyond. These recliners are extra wide, very sturdy and even come with a sun shade that can be taken off. The cost – $89 each.
It was a great 80F day to get our new recliners
These same type recliners were selling for about $129 at Camping World and after looking at many stores here in Palm Springs (Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes etc.) the price and quality of the chairs on sale at Bed, Bath and Beyond seemed like the best deal for us.
Ranger Station ponds at the Whitewater Preserve
It was a good day to buy these new recliners as the sun was shining all day with temperatures in the low 80’s. After a swim in the pool yesterday afternoon, I came back and tested out one of the recliners and can say with absolute certainty it passes with flying colors. It’s very comfy and the zero-gravity movement is perfect.
Paulette was off to Yucca Valley with Kim and 3 other quilting ladies before 10am on Tuesday. Their plans were to hit a few quilt and second hand stores before going for lunch then heading back to the Sands. With not much going on here I packed Molly and Rylie into the truck for a quick trip up to the Whitewater Preserve.
There are dozens of fish in these crystal clear waters
Paulette and I discovered this large preserve area just 15 minutes west of Desert Hot Springs last year. We went on a couple of long hikes in the desert but yesterday I was just out for a quick stroll around the grounds and a look at the huge fish ponds.
I looked and looked but no Bighorn Sheep around
It was pretty hot when we got out of the truck at the Ranger Station so I was glad we didn’t have any plans to start hiking off into the wilderness. I’m sure we will be doing that sometime soon but we’ll have to start off much earlier in the day.
The trees say winter – but, it’s way too hot for that!
One side of the Whitewater Preserve Ranger Station has sheer, white cliffs that are apparently home to many Bighorn Sheep. I looked again yesterday but couldn’t see any movement at all up on the mountain.
I got back to the Sands just before 3pm right when Paulette and her friends were arriving home with all their shopping loot. I didn’t want to really know so I quickly changed, hopped onto our bike and rode up to the clubhouse pool for a nice refreshing swim.
Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
