It’s A Boy – Our First Grandson Due This June

hawaii me final

Our daughter Carrie called us yesterday to tell us that the baby she is expecting this coming June, her first, is a boy!  Yahoo!  The first boy in quite some time in our family and we are all very thrilled about this great news!

This little boy is not only going to have the best new Mom in the world, his Grandparents aren’t too shabby either.

On top of that, the little guy is going to have Aunts Erin, Maggie and Hayley to spoil him rotten.  If that isn’t enough then his cousins, our granddaughters Jessica and Mikayla, will also be pitching in to help.

Needless to say, Grandma Paulette is already making plans to make a very special baby quilt for our new Grandson.  Carrie is naturally very excited too about having her first child and told us on the phone that she’s thrilled her baby is a boy.  With this terrific news, our summer back home on Vancouver Island is going to be very special.  Congrats, Carrie, we love you and our new Grandson!

Carrie’s baby news wasn’t our only big event on Tuesday as Claire, Paulette’s BFF from Victoria, flew in for a one week stay with us at the Sands.  This is Claire’s first visit to Palm Springs and she was overwhelmed to walk out of the Palm Springs Airport into bright, sunny skies and a temperature of 75F – at 11:30am.  She flew out of Vancouver just a few hours earlier on a foggy, damp, cold morning.

As soon as we got back to the Sands, Paulette was hustling Claire into the bedroom to get changed into lighter clothes and then they were off in the truck headed for Jo-Ann’s and a couple of Palm Springs Quilt Shops.  That was fine with me as I had a golf game lined up with my friend Mel.  My Quilt Shop Chauffeur duties begin Wednesday with a trip to Temecula, San Marcos and Escondido.

To celebrate Claire’s arrival and the fact that with their shopping and my golfing no one thought about dinner, we decided to try out one of our favourite restaurants – the Lulu California Bistro in downtown Palm Springs.  Claire was amazed that in January we were able to sit outside at a sidewalk table for dinner.  It was good too – just as always.

It’s been a long day and I need some sleep to rest up for my job duties on Wednesday so this blog is ending now as I’m off to bed.

Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
