It seemed like every street in our RV park had a Super Bowl party going on late yesterday afternoon. Paulette and I were invited over to Mel and Debbie’s to watch the game. Walking over to their place just before the 3:30pm kickoff the streets were nearly deserted but there were TV’s blaring and BBQ’s being fired up in a lot of sites.
Rylie, Molly and Allie May waiting for a treat from Deb
Mel and Debbie have a beautiful, good natured, friendly Golden Doodle, Allie May, who welcomed Molly and Rylie into her home without a whimper let alone a bark. Allie May even shared her treats with our pups so she was a perfect host. Our dogs are friends as they meet at the dog park twice each day.
There seemed to be as much hype about Beyonce as the game!
Debbie and Mel were great hosts for the group gathered at their RV with Debbie’s Chilli being a big hit – it was terrific! We all enjoyed the game, the power failure in the middle of it and the half-time show as well. I was hoping the 49’ers might pull off a miracle comeback and force the game into overtime but it just wasn’t to be.
Dessert was Chocolate Cake and Raspberry Crumble Cake
Before the big game, I played a round of golf with Mel, Don and Rick. It was fun and the weather was absolutely perfect – warm and not a breath of wind. It didn’t help my golf game much as it wasn’t one of my better outings of the year. I did manage a couple of good shots on the last hole so that holds out some hope for the future.
It’s 8:30pm as I’m writing this after just getting back home from Mel’s and I’m pretty tired – must have been the Chocolate Cake and Raspberry Crisp! So, not having much to say tonight, I’m going to sign off and get a good night’s sleep to get ready for another fun week at the Sands here in Palm Springs.
Have a great Monday, and thanks again for visiting!
