Pizza Night Out With Our Trivial Pursuit Winnings

Way back on January 12th, our team placed 2nd out of 15 in a game of Trivial Pursuit at the Sands clubhouse and we won a huge windfall prize of $20.  We decided right then and there to go out for dinner with our winnings.  Last night was one of the first evenings where we were all free so Mel, our Captain, made a reservation for us at Villiagio’s Pizza in Palm Desert.

The actual Trivial Pursuit night was a lot of fun and it sure was well attended.  It was basically a bring your own refreshments and grab a table with your team members while the guy on the microphone called out the questions.

We had to carefully, and secretly, write down the answers on a piece of paper which were then collected and tallied.

In addition to our team, which we’ll modestly call “the winners”, we also invited Mel’s wife Debbie and blogging friends Kim and Don.  Debbie and Kim also played on a Trivial Pursuit team that night but unfortunately we’ll have to label them “the losers” as they didn’t place in the top 3.  Gracious winners that we are though we just threw our winnings in the pot for them to share!

We started off with a few appetizersIMG_0657

Since everyone had different tastes in pizza toppings, we ended up ordering 4 different types including 2 large pizzas and 2 mediums.  What we didn’t really expect was the size of these babies – they were absolutely huge, even the mediums looked extra large to us.  We thought we’d never come close to finishing these and we’d end up with lots of doggie boxes to take home.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.  I’m not sure how we all managed to eat anything as we were laughing so much most of the time.  It was amazing to listen to all of the different stories about what’s going on in the park as most of us stay on different streets here at the Sands so we exchanged a lot of funny stories about what we’ve heard and seen in our little community of RVers.

I can’t believe we almost ate the whole thing!IMG_0668

We’ve had quite a long run of great weather here recently, but the ‘devil winds’ are beginning to rustle tonight and we could be in for a blustery Friday.  That’s o.k. as I’ve got a lot of good books to read just in case it does turn in to an inside day.  Right now, it’s late and I’m off to bed hoping I don’t end up dreaming about pizza!!

Have a great Friday, and thanks again for visiting!
