A Tough One - Who’s Better –5 Guys Or In-N-Out?

After going out for a quick bite at 5 Guys Burgers over in La Quinta last night (I know, I’m a big spender), both Paulette and I agree that 5 Guys Burgers beats In-N-Out hands down.  I even think Molly and Rylie would agree with us as they’ve sampled both.  I’d love to hear what you readers think though as I know In-N-Out’s are very popular.

5 Guys Cheeseburger – this is at very tough one to beatIMG_0602

When we arrived at the 5 Guys burger joint in La Quinta Saturday evening it was still 75F at 6pm and since we had Molly and Rylie with us we picked a table outside – it was just a perfect evening.

While I went in to order us cheeseburgers, Paulette waited outside with Molly and Rylie.  A server immediately brought her a couple of baskets of free peanuts and asked if there was anything else she needed.  The service was first class unlike many other burger places.

Ordering, I discovered that the basic cheeseburger comes with 2 meat patties, cheese, mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard – that’s called “All The Way” which is what I ordered for both of us.  There was also a red “All The Way” which featured hot stuff like jalapeno’s, red peppers, green peppers etc.

We also ordered a bag of fries between us and try as we may, we were not able to finish them.  It was a huge order and very good as they cut their own potatoes to make their own fries fresh each day.  We do like In-N-Out Burgers and would now rate them as our #2 favourite of the popular burger places.  That is especially true now that I read recently that Burger King was caught using horsemeat!!

In the desert, flags hanging limply is always a great signIMG_0589

Our day not only ended with food, it started out that way too as we went to the bi-weekly Pancake Breakfast up at the clubhouse Saturday morning.  After breakfast, Paulette took off with Sandy for a morning of garage sales plus a bit of shopping.  I got to stay home and enjoy the beautiful morning doing absolutely nothing!!

I did manage a pic, from my lounger, of Paulette heading out IMG_0587

In the afternoon, I managed to pull myself out of our backyard lounger long enough to ride up to the clubhouse and go for a swim in the pool.  Paulette was back by this time so Sandy and her took Molly and Rylie for a walk around the perimeter of the park.

This is a pretty interesting series so farhouse-of-cards-kevin-spacey

Last night, we began watching a new Neflix Original Series called House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.  Spacey plays a vengeful congressman (Majority Whip) who doesn’t take  betrayal lying down and who plays members of the House like a scrappy con artist.  Netflix has all 13 first season episodes available and last night we watched the first 2.  We’ll watch the rest for sure.

Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting!
